Victor Davis Hanson makes the following statement on his website:
I think had Gore won, we would not have had the Patriot Act; Afghanistan would still be under the Taliban; Pakistan would be pro-terrorist; Saddam would be harboring terrorists; Libya would be on the WMD path; and Saudi Arabia would be still bribing and abetting al Qaeda—and the Europeans would be whining about the lack of American leadership and the necessity of America going it alone sometimes.
Personally, I also think that we would also have suffered another terrorist attack on our homeland, maybe even worse than the WTC and Pentagon attacks. Not a day goes by that I don't reverently give thanks that George Bush won the 2000 election. The alternative is still almost too horrible to contemplate.
