(More cartoons from Eric Allie)

Check out some headlines this weekend:
New York Times Palin story, "Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes." Today's front-page feature in the Washington Post is "As Mayor of Wasilla, Palin Cut Own Duties, Left Trail of Bad Blood."

You'd never know that Sarah Palin is the most popular governor in the country with an 80% approval rating.... Only her enemies manage to speak to the press.

And Now For Something Completely Different... [Mark Hemingway]

Author Robert Stone in this week's NYT book review:

“If, in this campaign, illusion triumphs over what we must believe is reality, we will fail as a nation. There is, after all, a point of no return. If McCain wins, history is here big time, scythe, sackcloth and all four horsemen.”

You know given the Sarah Palin hysteria currently gripping the left, it's almost refreshing to hear venomous hyperbole about the other person on the ticket.

I won't even go into detail about this little bit of political pornography. Compare and contrast to these images:
