Risking Heartbreak

Well, God forbid we should defy nature!

I will immediately cease all the activities that I do everyday that defy her absolute supremacy.

Think about it.

Are you willing to stop taking antibiotics or other medications that significantly prolong your life and keep you from dying? Or, would you prefer to accede to nature the first time you get bacterial pneumonia?

Are you willing to used mechanized transportation to travel, or should you revert to using what "nature" intended --your legs?

Are you willing to give up reading books, since "nature" never intended for your eyesight to be supplemented with corrective lenses.

Are you willing to give up all the pain medications that are available? After all, chronic pain is nature's way of making sure you don't have the heartbreak of enjoying life.

Are you willing to deal with the heartbreak entailed in continuing to live, move, and/or see clearly--even if sometimes things don't work out in the best possible way? Is that a risk you are willing to take?

I know I am.
