For a brief, but welcome moment of sanity in a troubled world, I urge you to read The Anchoress today who justifiably wonders why the media have studiously ignored the praise coming from the President of Iraq; and the comments of MaxedOutMama on that same subject. Let me quote from Mama:

The real culture war in this country is not between Christians and secular humanists but between the victimologists and those who preserve the traditional ethos of duty, honor, truthfulness, personal accountability and subordination of the personal ego to a broader goal. The press hates military men and women because they fall in the second category.
