I met a time traveller from our future land
Who said: "A vast and endless stimulus plan
brought forth early in Obama's reign,
utterly sank the economy, or what remained;
And shamed the Messiah's cold command
Of grandiose ambitions not quite dead,
But shattered upon Supply and Demand.
The One who mocked them; who once had said,
"Vero possumus", but then never could
Repeal reality and so declined
His name was Obama, The One, The Light
So young and well-spoken, very refined;
Who promised to banish the scary night
Pay for mortgages, gas for free
Round the colossal decay of liberty
Prosperity and Peace cower out of sight."
